Hello friends!
Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was restful and joyful. If you’ve been following along with us, you know we’ve spent the last 4 weeks on the topic of contentment. We wrapped up the series last week and as we came to an end, I found myself wracking my brain on what topic to write about next. I have some really fun ideas that I am excited to share, but I felt a nudge to pause on those for this week and focus on sending a quick reminder to all you lovely people.
(This pic is me metaphorically popping in to give you this reminder.. also that is pizza sauce on my dirty window from toddler fingers before anyone panics LOL).
I don’t know who needs to hear this.. but I wanted to remind you this week that you are loved. Yes, that’s it! I know I know… you know! Right? Maybe you know this already (and you probably do know it). But it’s one thing to know and it’s another thing to truly believe. And to take it a step further, it’s a whole other thing to live like you believe it! So I just want to start with making sure you know that you are in fact, so loved. With that, let’s start from the beginning and read it straight from the source.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
1 John 4:16
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10
Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O LORD. How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of Your wings.
Psalm 36:5-7
I will be glad and rejoice in Your unfailing love, for You have seen my troubles, and You care about the anguish of my soul.
Psalm 31:7
I could go on forever listing the countless verses that prove to us that we are loved by our creator. It is written all throughout the bible; through the stories we read, through the parables Jesus told, and through the scripture that point blank states it. No one is ever abandoned or forgotten. He created each of us intentionally, He spared the world by saving Noah and his family when evil had overtaken His world, He sought out Moses with a burning bush, He parted the Red Sea showing He is sovereign over all, He protected Daniel against lions and David against Goliath and Jonah from a whale. He gave His only son for us. I could seriously go on forever, but I think you probably get my drift. If there is one thing we should know from the Bible, I think it is that we are deeply and unconditionally loved.
Every night before I put my daughter in her bed, I tell her “I love you so much and I always will. And there’s NOTHING you can do about it.” I have a feeling that’s how God feels about us. He IS love. He created us and loves us now and forever, no matter what. Such a simple yet insanely impactful sentiment.
So that’s it for this week, friends. You are loved. I just felt like some of you needed to hear that. I hope you believe it.
My prayer for you this week:
Dear Lord, THANK YOU for loving us so deeply and unconditionally. Thank you for creating us because you loved us so much and for continuing to love us in our weakness. Please help us live like we are loved this week. Amen!
