Hello friends! This past week, my husband and I spent 4 days on the beach in Mexico relaxing, reconnecting, and spending time unplugged. It was a refreshing vacation but MAN, I didn't know it was possible to miss someone so much! We left our little girl for the first time and she had a blast at home with her grandparents. We are so thankful to be back and had the best weekend making up for missed cuddles!
Because of my time away and just returning, I am going to keep this week's blog post short and sweet. I hope to spend time expanding on these thoughts in a later post but for today, this is what I have for you.
No word from the Lord will ever fail
Luke 1:37 tells us "No word from God will ever fail." Wow. Point blank. No question about it. It won't fail. He can't fail! What He says is true. And since that it is the case, let's take a quick look at some of the words of the Lord and remind ourselves of some of the promises He made that will stand true. Of course, there are far too many verses to even be able to scratch the surface.. so we will just take a look at 6 today.
1. God desires to give us an abundant life-
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10
2. God will never leave us-
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14
3. God will always love us, no matter what-
"'Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,' says the LORD, who has compassion on you. "
Isaiah 54:10
4. God forgives us-
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:19
5. God is always with us-
“This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
6. God has a plan for our life- Of course, I couldn't leave out this famous verse.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
You probably have read all of these verses before, but reading them with a perspective of "these are 100% true because God's word cannot fail" can help us feel the magnitude of the words and the promises of the Lord. I think it helps hit a little harder, helps me believe them a little more. If you are struggling with believing one of these promises, I challenge you to reread Luke 1:37 and then continue reading the verse associated with whatever promise is hard for you to believe.
My prayer for you this week:
God, I just want to pray for the person reading this right now. I pray that you help them lean into your promises this week and believe them with their whole heart. You know our hearts and what we are struggling to believe, so I pray you speak to us in specific ways this week. God, you are a good and faithful God whose word doesn't fail. I pray you make your presence known to us this week. We love you, Lord.
