Today I am thankful for a never-changing God in the midst of this ever- changing world.
“ When our world seems like it won't stop spinning around us, God is our rock. He is the same Jesus who met the woman at the well. The same God who conquered death is the same God who is here for you today."
Do you ever feel like change is the only constant thing in your life? Like you can never get settled because change is always around the corner? I am in a season where I feel this more than ever. I finally graduated from school, and as soon as I started getting used to having more free time, I started my job. My husband and I started adjusting to me working long shifts at the hospital and eating late dinners when I got home at 8pm. As soon as that started to feel more comfortable, I switched to night shifts and it has really thrown us for a loop. We eat dinner at 4:30pm before I leave for work and my husband is gone for work when I get home in the morning.
I am a creature of habit and I truly am not great at change. I was reading this devotional earlier this week though that talked about our ever-changing world and it really spoke to me. It talked about how our house decor changes, our friendships change, our passions change, and everyone around us is changing too. It's not easy to keep your footing in this world when everything is always changing.
The hope in this topic though is that our God is never-changing. When our world seems like it won't stop spinning around us, God is our rock. He is the same Jesus who met the woman at the well. The same God who conquered death is the same God who is here for you today. I'm so thankful that one thing in this life always stays the same. He is always good. He is always loving. He is always powerful. He is always full of grace and forgiveness. He is always listening. He is always willing to move mountains for us. Wow, I'm thankful for that.
