We're Talking being Brave

Bravery isn't always what you think it is, but it's always worth it.

"Being brave looks like doing those things you know you were called to do and want to do, all the while shaking in your boots."

Something I have been learning lately: Bravery is not absence of fear. Bravery and fear can coexist! Being brave is hearing fear whisper in your ear and choosing to listen to God’s truths anyway. Brave doesn’t always look like jumping out of an airplane either, sometimes it's doing things you're scared to do even if those things seem minute. Bravery presents itself in so many different forms, which is a pretty cool thing.

Brave can look like doing something huge, but it can also look like saying no because you’re not comfortable. It can look like jumping out of a plane, or it can look like saying 'no' to something you're not comfortable with and setting those personal boundaries. It can look like 'going for it' even when you're scared of what others will think. Brave can look like quitting your job and moving across the country, but it can also look like staying in your current job that you don’t love because you don’t know what you’re supposed to do next.

Brave can look like going for your dream even though you’re scared of what people will think, sticking to your guns when you believe in something, trying something outside your comfort zone, pushing yourself to be a better person, or saying “no” when you’re overwhelmed to spend time alone.

Bravery comes in lots of forms. I don’t know what type of brave you need to be today, but I do know one thing.. You are braver than you know. Like so much braver. You are capable and strong and brave! God did not give you a spirit of fear, meaning those fears you are hearing are lies from the enemy himself. He gave you a spirit of power and love and He is behind you 100%.

Being brave looks like doing those things you know you were called to do and want to do, all the while shaking in your boots.

So whether its climbing a mountain, taking a trip across the country, being by yourself even when it's scary, setting boundaries, or inviting someone new over for lunch.... go be brave today sisters!!! It's so worth it. You never know what's on the other side of fear.
